April Deacon is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Appalachian Ohio. Working across painting, sculpture, and mixed media, her practice explores the contradictions of contemporary life with equal parts reverence and critique. Drawing deeply from her experiences in rural America her work oscillates between celebration and confrontation, honoring resilience while exposing imbalance.

April’s pieces often juxtapose the personal with the political and the idyllic with the uncomfortable. Whether through vivid hand-lettering, found objects reimagined, symbolic abstractions, richly textured surfaces, or large-scale murals she invites viewers to reckon with the world as it is and imagine how it could be.
